About Us

Waiwhenua is a 410ha sheep, beef and deer farm with a little piece of paradise down by the Tūtaekurī River that we love to share with others!

Your hosts are Willie and Ainsley. Willie is third generation on this farm.

$25 / night / 2 people. Additional guests are $10 / night.

$30 / night / 2 people. Additional guests are $15 / night. 

Powered Sites:

Use of Full Facilities. 

$45 per site per night for two guests. Additional guests are $15 / night. 

Trout Fishing

The Tūtaekurī River offers the angler top-quality fishing for a large population of rainbow trout some of which reach very large sizes. Predominantly rainbow trout but with some brown trout the fish average around 1.5 kg though many fish in the 2-3 kg range, particularly in the upper reaches. There can be a good run of sea-run brown trout in the lower reaches some of which also reach impressive sizes.

We recommend the use of a fishing guide for those unfamiliar with the river. Our local guide's knowledge of the river and techniques are invaluable. Prior bookings are essential for this activity - please email us at info@waiwhenua.co.nz to find out more.
